Brianny Blakeman's Graduation
The University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth

Originals

The full screen images that result from clicking on any of the images on this page have been saved at a higher resolution in order to retain as much detail as is possible. Thus, if you download an image, you can rely on getting one that is less likely to look like a checkered jigsaw puzzle.

It would help if you are using a recent model computer with plenty of memory and a reasonably fast connection when you go to view the full screen images. You would also want your display to be set at a dimension of no less then 1024 x 768.

You might wish to hit your F11 key to get a truly full screen, and again to revert back when you are done. Do it now.

If you would like an actual photograph processed and sent to you in the mail, send me an email with the particulars (where, size, etc.).

That's Darby Dale Blakeman, Bri's sister.

I have included those images that appear to contain nothing of real interest on the possibility that I might be wrong. You may see someone you know.

Darby & crowd are across the way, left of the American flag, but the low resolution of the camera makes then hardly worth enlarging to something useful. However, I did superimpose 3 blowups so you can judge for yourself.

The pixel dimensions of the originals were 1632 x 1232 (2MP). I reduced (or cut) that to 1024 x 773 so that the full-screen renditions would fit a screen that is set to 1024 x 768, the norm these days on a Windows PC. This also reduces their file size allowing them to load faster when you click on their smaller versions here.

Though you can download the 1024 images, you may prefer to obtain a copy of the 1632 original so that you can do your own processing.

When I arrived at 9:15, I carried my umbrella. It was anybody's guess as to whether it might rain again. So it was interesting to me that just as the ceremonies began the sun broke through like a well timed spotlight over the stage. I felt that it was quite appropriate in terms of my daughter's accomplishment though I should probably acknowledge that some of the other graduates may have rated such recognition also.

I climbed down to some empty graduate seats because I knew that I had to get closer with this camera. However, it was not good enough. I snapped this as soon as she appeared. I guess I should have gotten up on the stage even though it might have risked eternal condemnation.

Now I can't find her in this one.

But here she is 4 minutes later, so I'm finding the previous 2 shots suspect. Unfortunately, this KODAK camera does not always take a picture when I press the button.

(Later: this is the real diploma - superimposed).

When I saw this picture, I put it online immediately and sent the following email out to a few friends:

Brianny Davidson Blakeman, my youngest daughter, has graduated Cum Laude.
I am so very proud of her.  : )

Later there will be a gallery of images captured by myself and others. Van

This is that gallery. Don't know what happened to the others.
