I dug a hole up the hill away from our living quarters which is covered by an old piece of plywood and a rock. Into that I dump the contents. Coleman made this one and it is a very good one. The biodegradable deodorant I pour in there when empty does a pretty good job. The tank was engineered to create pockets of air that provide a certain amount of suction when flushed. This is nice; you don't have to use a stick as often to push the stuff the rest of the way down the hole, because that suction kind of grabs it and slurps it down. But with suction, you get splashback. I have learned to stand away from the thing when I flush it. But when emptying it, you can't really stand away, so you have to be very very careful. If you are too careful, then half of it doesn't even come out. Then you have to add some gray water and try again.

Now, that wasn't so bad, was it?
