Residing The End Walls

The Front Wall:

Tipping the trailer away from the varnished side helps the thinned varnish penetrate

deeper

The Rear Wall:

The top corners show how loose the ply became after pulling the trim – then the window??

So taped it, removed it, glued it back, clamped it. Also clamped top center piece (Sorry; no pic)

It worked. Now to remove clamping board over the center piece...

Oops... (Duh! lesson: after gluing remove the clamp before the glue dries)

Cut a new piece to replace the old. Later sanded it, then glued and nailed in place

Just loosened this ply, spilled glue behind it and clamped as seen here.

All wood trim was removed (just traps rain water). Later replaced with fiberglass tape.

Extended side wall up over new. Later wood filled and sanded.

The center piece is in. Applied wood filler where needed, sanded, varnished ...

Primed before remembering to wrap the edges with fiberglass tape

So applied adhesive spray and fiberglass tape afterwards – it took; good stuff

Note 6 years later (2008): everything that was repaired with spray adhesive and fiberglass tape held up very well; still solid and dry.
