Signs Of Refuge

I had been meaning to do this for years, even though in 40 some years I had never seen signs of trappers in our area.

California had just outlawed Bobcat trapping within the areas surrounding the national and state parks, but I had to wonder if a person that takes pleasure in killing could be trusted to respect the law. More likely, he would be inclined to see what he could get away with. However, in reading through a hunter/trapper forum, I noticed that one iron-clad rule amongst themselves is to stay off of posted property, regardless of the local laws.

I went ahead and put up the four signs, one at each corner of our property.
They say "POSTED WILDLIFE SAFETY ZONE NO HUNTING, FISHING, TRAPPING OR MOTORIZED VEHICLES".

I bought the signs from a Google store called ComplianceSigns.com for $65. I don't know why I didn't check around at the time, but I have since found what appear to be good signs at a much lower rate. Anyhow, these signs are a sturdy plastic; they look like they will last forever; we will see.

I attached them with fender washers to help absorb high wind flexing, bolted through 1.5" PVC posts, double-nutted, that can rotate around a steel stake as needed.
