The Windows, Part 1

Cut the hole and installed this slider in 1969. It held up well, except for the broken glass and torn screen.

Not bad for a 26 year old novice.

I think I like this one better.
Heavily siliconed. It still needs some trim.
... Next trip.

Purchased the new slider at Home Depot.

The early morning view.

Rough opening measurements.

All glass was broken in the 6 original steel units. Some copper screening was torn.

Each window unit disassembles into 7 parts, plus a hood, interior frame, bolts

The 6 screen and window units prior to refurbishing, with broken glass removed.

Scraping and sanding the screen frames.
The window halves will come later.

Painted. The primer, then satin white.
Also the lockset and a few other things.

Screened by Yucca Valley Mirror & Glass. (The new glass is behind the screens.)

Stored out of harm's way until the trailer is painted and moved to the new site.

All old window screw and nail holes are plugged with glue and toothpicks.

GE silicone: old on the bottom and in screw holes; new on the sides and top.
