Canvased Slat Corners




Short version:




How it was done:

The rear left corner...

Scraped the upper right area. Being the first canvas repair, it was still just an idea

Sprayed adhesive and applied
fiberglass tape .........       It held!

The final test was a coat of varnish; concerned that it might react with the glue. It took; no problem.

Tape crazy ...

Had removed the old interior wall and floor for replacement, so got a good look

The new floor was needed to hold the slats and canvas in place. In fact, it carries the entire rear end.








Primed

Added more tape over the wood-canvas seam after priming. Not sure if this shows that, but it held.



Note 6 years later (2008): everything that was repaired with spray adhesive and fiberglass tape held up very well; still solid and dry.
